Townsend, TN — Anchored Construction & Restoration, a Knoxville-based renovation specialist led by owner Travis Bullington, has completed a full-scale transformation of the historic Tremont Lodge in Townsend, Tennessee. The year-long project revitalized 130 guest rooms and introduced new amenities including a speakeasy, lounge, fitness center, pickleball courts, fire pits, and outdoor grilling pavilions—merging mountain heritage with modern comfort.
We hired Anchored Construction to manage a year‑long, full‑scale hotel renovation covering 130 guest rooms, venue upgrades, and brand-new amenities such as a speakeasy, lounge, fitness center, pickle ball courts, fire pits, and outdoor grilling pavilions. The owner, Travis, was patient, responsive, and upheld true integrity in every decision. The craftsmanship from his team exceeded expectations, and the transformation is stunning. What started as a renovation ended as a revitalization of the guest experience. I can’t recommend Travis and his team highly enough for any project—truly a pleasure to work with!
Rooted in Craftsmanship and Sustainability
The renovation began with a complete gutting of the guest rooms, allowing the Anchored Construction team to rebuild from the studs up. New subfloors, infrastructure, and insulation were installed to ensure durability and comfort. Wide plank wood flooring was selected for its natural warmth and rugged appeal, mirroring the Smoky Mountains just outside.
To honor the lodge’s local roots, reclaimed barn wood from regional farms was carefully treated and used to create striking accent walls. This choice reflects a commitment to sustainability and regional character while offering guests a one-of-a-kind interior experience.
Rustic Meets Refined
The design team introduced a two-tone paint palette to balance the raw texture of wood with a clean, contemporary finish. Updated fixtures—including matte black hardware, bronze lighting, and high-efficiency ceiling fans—were selected for both style and long-term performance. In the bathrooms, modern tile installations, spacious vanities, and neutral palettes create a spa-like atmosphere for relaxation.
Sustainability remained central to every decision. From repurposed materials to energy-efficient installations, the renovation was built to minimize environmental impact while maximizing guest comfort and operational longevity.
A New Chapter for a Smoky Mountain Landmark
Located in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, the Tremont Lodge now offers an upgraded experience where nature, comfort, and craftsmanship coexist. The lodge’s renewed aesthetic reflects the peaceful side of the Smokies, welcoming guests with thoughtfully designed spaces that connect the indoors to the mountain landscape beyond.
“This project wasn’t just about rebuilding rooms—it was about restoring a sense of place,” said Travis Bullington, owner of Anchored Construction & Restoration. “We’re proud to have helped breathe new life into a beloved local destination.”
